The recognition of gifted and talented students, their accomplishments,
and their potential is essential to prepare them for productive and satisfying
futures. Their capacity to lead, their concerns about the world, and their
ability to think creatively are vital national assets. For these young
people to succeed, they need support and encouragement from peers, families,
educators, programs, and organizations.
Some G&T students have advanced opportunities to explore their talents
and practice their skills, and they achieve at a higher level. However,
many G&T students do not have these opportunities. Their talents and
gifts are not nurtured and often their potential goes unrealized. We believe
that connecting all G&T youth with advanced opportunities will reverse
this cycle, and society will benefit.
