NSGT Scholarships

Board of Trustees Scholarship Fund

Due April 1, 2010

10 Scholarships: (4) $250, (4) $500, (2) $1,000

The Board of Trustees Scholarship is a prestigious award given each year to outstanding students who demonstrate excelled ability in their field of interest. Previous student applications included gifted summer, online, and overseas programs.

These funds may be used to help pay tuition for any gifted, leadership, or foreign language and cultural programs.  Independent projects such as scientific and research studies are qualified for submission and must contain a budget for equipment, supplies, with oversight from an educator or organization. Only future program participation will be considered and must be applied by August 31, 2010. All scholarship money will be given directly to the program, organization or academic advisor.

Students need to download and complete the application, or request an application at info@nsgt.org.

In addition, students need to submit a detailed description (up to two pages) of why they believe they should receive the scholarship. This description should include:

The purpose of the program or project
A description of the program or project
The expected outcome
How the program or project will be evaluated
What resources will be used – books, travel costs, mentors etc..
Previous awards received
A budget – Tuition, class materials, travel expenses
One letter of recommendation from a teacher or administrator
Brochure of the program or project where applicable.

A team of educators in the field of gifted education will review the applications and choose the scholarship winners.

Applications must be received by April 1, 2010. Winners will be notified on April 15, 2010. Please see the scholarship application form for details.
